A bit Longer Answer….We are a little biased in this regard, however, most people who have visited the islands will agree that there is so much more you can see and do with a vehicle of your own. There is no public transportation in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and the illegal jitneys are uninsured and unsafe. In addition, taxi cabs are expensive, and their service is inconsistent. So we recommend YES!
Our service goes beyond showing up on time with a smile on our face. We offer full concierge assistance, including custom maps and island recommendations , restaurant, and charter bookings, 24hr complimentary roadside assistance, complimentary car seats, and just plain good old fashioned friendly advice. In addition, we are the largest rental car agency in the country, we are locally owned and one of Turks and Caicos Islands most respected corporate citizens
To assist you further, we provide a few basic guidelines on arrival to ensure that you are comfortable, as well as a simple diagram of how the roundabout system works on the island
Upon your arrival we will personally greet you, help you with your bags, and walk you the short distance to where your car is waiting, on site at the airport. The paperwork takes seconds to complete, and then you will be on your way to the beach! Grace Bay Car Rentals has the only dedicated rental car facility at the airport – just look up the hill as you exit the arrival doors. Our motto is “No Shuttling, No Line-Ups, No Hassle!” If you prefer your vehicle delivered to your resort, just let us know what time and where!
Our return booth is located on the second level of the airport’s parking lot. There is no paperwork to complete for the return, just the return of the keys to one of our parking lot attendants, and a quick walk around of the vehicle. You can return your rental car right at the airport free of charge! (most companies charge for this service).
OR, if you want to leave the car at your resort, just leave the keys at the reception counter, and we will come pick up the vehicle from there
Like almost all car rental companies around the world, Grace Bay Car Rentals is not able to accept debit cards or cash payments for rentals
What this means is that typically you need to be 25 or older to rent a vehicle in the country. However, we have purchased a special policy that allows us to offer vehicles to those aged 23 and 24 only. Unfortunately, to offer this option for our customers within these ages, there is a required fee of $11.95 per day. This fee is in additional to any required loss damage waiver applied to a selection of vehicles
For selected vehicle categories, a Required Loss Damage Waiver of $19.95 or $24.95 per day is applied, which covers you for all damages to your rental vehicle, except for glass, rims, tires, and interior damage. It also covers you if your vehicle is stolen during your possession. There is a $1500 deductible applied to any claim made under this waiver. You have the option to upgrade the required LDW to ZERO Deductible for an additional $10 per day, which covers damage to your rental vehicle, except for glass, rims, tires, and interior damage.
Please read the rental contract for more details and note that the ‘fine’ print states that driving intoxicated, illegally, or dangerously, will void all Loss Damage Waivers.
The most important part of the GBCRS commitment is that we sincerely care about you, your family, and your guests. In the rarest event when something unexpected does occur, we accept responsibility and will do everything possible to ensure your trip goes smoothly, and that we earn your trust and admiration by the manner in which we handled the situation.
